our story
Color of Heat began with an unexpected journey. When 17-year-old Kat Whatley traveled to Northern Thailand with her parents, Jeanne and Will, none of them anticipated the adventure would spark a decade-long passion for sustainable fashion and ethical craftsmanship.
The very day the Whatley’s arrived in Chiang Mai, Kat received her acceptance to the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in NYC, and she was immersed in the vibrant world of Thai textiles. That serendipitous moment marked the start of a mission to combine timeless artistry with modern, sustainable design.
After graduating from FIT in 2017, Kat dedicated herself to building Color of Heat as more than a fashion brand, but also a platform for conscious consumerism, fair-trade practices, and a deep respect for the planet and its people.
As a family, Jeanne, Will, and Kat share a commitment to honoring our planet and uplifting the artisans and costumers whose lives touch COH. What started as a shared curiosity about Thai textiles evolved into a partnership with local communities, supporting artisans while honoring the heritage of their craft.
At Color of Heat, we collaborate with skilled Thai artisans and seamstresses to create soft, woven clothing designed for breathable comfort, easy care, and enduring style. Every piece is a testament to the rich traditions of Thai craftsmanship and the stories of the hands that create it.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Together, we’re proving that fashion can be a force for good—one thoughtfully made garment at a time.
Our Mission
We are dedicated to making quality clothing that respects the planet, empowers makers, and delights our customers. Every piece is a reflection of our commitment to ethical production, fair wages, and zero-waste practices.
